Yarnalong - Ramona & Denise

Joining in with the Yarnalong at Small Things

The Ramona Racer Back Tee is coming along but I can't say I am too inspired by it so far.  The basic textured pattern combined with the thinness and dryness of the cotton glace make me feel like I'm knitting a dishcloth rather than a lovely top!  However, it was the shape that drew me to this project so I am holding final judgment until I have at least finished the back.

My latest reading infatuation is with Denise Mina.  I have seen her several times on the Review Show but have only just sought out her writing.  The End of the Wasp Season is the third of hers that I've read in just a month.  Once I start one of her stories, I am hooked and dipping in to it at every available moment, racing to the end.  Highly recommend!

  1. I've tried to make a couple of summer tops out of cotton but I just can't do it - hopefully the shape and the cuteness of the pattern will help you power through!

  2. I hope your top is great when it's done - I know exactly what you mean though, I find cotton glace almost impossible to work with, which is sad because often it's dyed my favourite colours.

  3. That book sounds great! I might have to check it out. I haven't used cotton glace for ages...which reminds me, I am halfway through a very tedious cardigan in it, that I haven't touched for about three years! Oops!

  5. That is such a nice pattern! And I love the color! I think my daughter would like it, I might have to try that out after I finish her dress...in 3 years :-)
